Pacific Whale Foundation

The Pacific Whale Foundation has been working since 1980 to save the Humpback Whales, dolphins, turtles and coral reefs in Hawaii. Through their marine eco-tours, they are raising awareness of the gentle giants of the Pacific. They also have a voluntourism site featuring projects like cleaning up your favorite Maui beach.

When my guests are looking for a whale watch, I always steer them to the Pacific Whale Foundation. During the height of whale season in February, the Whale Day festival is held and volunteers are always needed. The Great Whale Count is a great source of information about the Humpback whales.

The Pacific Whale Foundation has an volunteer program that will connect visitors with ongoing projects, and these wonderful folks will always supply volunteers with beach clean-up kits. Just stop by their office at Ma'alaea Harbor to pick up your kit!

The Maui Ocean Center, located in the same complex has a wealth of information about our oceans as well.

Please check out the web site of Pacific Whale Foundation for all the wonderful and educational opportunities available.
